Our Essential Gardening Bundle is inspired by traditional Japanese gardening. These are essential tools for any gardener toolbelt, or the perfect gift for the avid gardener that can come packaged in a beautiful bamboo box. It features our Hori Hori Trowel/Knife/Saw, and Japanese Bypass Pruners. There is also an option to add on our tool sharpening kit that comes with mineral oil, a rust eraser, and sharpening stone that polishes as it sharpens.

Hori Hori: The Hori Hori is a classic digging to­­ol used for carefully excavating plants. "Hori Hori" literally means "Dig Dig" in Japanese! The concave blade has both a serrated edge and a knife edge making it ideal for scooping, digging, sawing roots, and pulling weeds. It is also equipped with measurement markings for measuring plant depths, a twine cutter, and a bottle opener! The handle/hilt is made of beautiful bi-colored wood and steel.

Bypass Pruners: Japanese Bypass Pruners with a vegan leather sheath. Carbon steel, hand-crafted pruners with a catch lock. Perfect for cutting green or dead branches with ergonomic handles designed for long use. Handmade forging and edging made by Japanese master craftsman. The blades are heat treated which is a unique process of manufacturing that adds extra strength and durability. The sheath comes with a brass snap and a belt loop.

Rust Eraser: The Naniwa Rust Eraser is essential if you use carbon steel knives or tools. Steel is extremely prone to rusting, especially when you are using these tools outdoors. And no one wants rust on their blades. Fortunately, removing rust is easy with the Rust Eraser from Naniwa.

Rub Away Corrosion
The Rust Eraser is a soft and flexible block, 50mm x 40mm x 20mm (2" x 1-1/2" x 3/4") in size. Similar in consistency to a pencil eraser, the alumina abrasive is distributed throughout the entire thickness of the block, so fresh grit is exposed as it wears. The fine grit abrades quickly through rust. It can be used dry or with a little water or oil.

Sharpening Stone: Our pocket sharpening stone is perfect to sharpen your tools on the fly. Since this is a soft stone, it will also polish while you sharpen and is incredibly handy to have on the go. These stones are made in the U.S. They are Soft Arkansas stones are medium-fine stones. The stones are approximately 3" x 1" x 1/4".

Mineral Oil is used to protect tools from rust and helps keep them lubricated if they have gears. This glass bottle comes in two ounces with a dropper, perfect for applying the mineral oil directly on the tools. We have infused this mineral oil with sage essential oil which provides a nice aroma and also helps to repel insects.
